How many ml feeds? Please help!

Our newborn is 5 days old, we were told not to over feed him by midwives so gave him about 30mls then yesterday upping to about 75mls Now we are told he’s lost weight and to let him eat till he’s full He’s just has 120ml of breast milk with out telling us he’s done (he spit up a bit so we stopped, but we were told to go until HE stops) This seems like a huge volume at day 5 Can anyone say roughly what their newborns eat, I feel like crying I’m so unsure what we are doing wrong

Just feed him until he's done. Honestly, babies lead you and its soooo much easier that way. Let him tell you when he's finished, feed on demand so not every 3 hours, just when he cries for it and you will find you get into a natural rhythm eventually. Amounts differ by baby and sizes etc. Don't stress, you got this 😊

I wouldn’t worry about it!! Babies eat when they’re hungry and stop when they’re full. Just follow their cues!

same with mine! his first bottle out of me was 50! and even now he’s 3 weeks and has done 120-180 feeds not all the time but during cluster feeding we average now at 5 ounce per bottle x
