Is this ok?

My little girl starts nursery in January, the food timings are super early compared to what we do at home. They do breakfast 8; lunch 11 and tea 3. We are only on one bottle now and she eats a variety of food so I’m not worried about that, however, our HV wants her to be weighed again as she slightly dropped to the 2nd centile… (she’s just not a big foodie but does eat.. if that makes sense?!) and she’s constantly on the move! I have been giving her food the same time as nursery will offer to help her (and I) adjust but I’ve been offering again at 5/5:30 as I think 3 til 8 the next day is such a long time! I am a terrible snacker on an evening 🤣 is this ok? I feel like it’s stupid question now I’ve wrote it out but having been told constantly my girl is small, petite, dainty and everything else I’m totally paranoid about her weight and making sure she gets enough. 😣

Of course it’s okay! I intend to offer a light tea/snack after nursery pick up, like I do for my eldest (nursery tea time is 4) and it’ll be around 5/5:30 and then he’ll also have milk before bed.

@Chloe thank you!

Sounds great and we plan to do similar to be honest!

If it’s reassuring, all nurseries do meal times like this and all parents feed them again when they get home. My toddler goes to a childminder instead now and she feeds them at 5pm. We still give him a bedtime snack otherwise he wakes up early hungry.

Agree with the above! My baby has ‘tea’ at 4pm at nursery which is something like soup and bread after a main meal at lunch. I offer him dinner around 5.30 when we have our dinner and then he has a breastfeed before bed. If she eats it, she’s hungry! If she refuses it, she’s probably fine xx

Thanks everyone! ♥️

I do exactly the same for my 11 month old His nursery has breakfast 8, lunch 11.30am and tea 3.30 They do give babies a snack around 5pm for the ones still there but I always give a little supper of usually something like toast, fruit/yoghurt/breadsticks/cheese etc once we get home around 6.30pm. He also has milk before bed too

Same routine as Rhi… and i also give her dinner at 6pm and a bottle of milk before bed ( a part from tonight when she got home very tired and went to bed at 7pm just with milk, hope she’s fine through the night) . My LO is also small, petite, i have been always worried about her weight but she eats well at home and at the nursery and she’s on the move… nonstop!

I do the same as Emily! Most parents at nursery pick up say they do an extra meal when they get home!
