Weaning

Anybody else’s baby not interested in food? He was 6 months on 8th June. He is now poorly on antibiotics so I have stopped it for abit as he isn’t even taking his milk due to being ill! But I can’t help but compare him to his sister, she took to it so well! & it just is hard to not stress 🙃

My second started to weaning only at 8 months, as he had no interest, but ate everything until age of 3, since then been in picky stage 😁

@Santa oh really! Did he take to weaning better at 8 months? Just soo annoying when it’s your second just the time etc I haven’t got 😩 so feel like he’s behind

My little one will play with the bits of food we give him but doesn't eat any yet. Even though he tracks and stares intensely when we eat. He's 6 months tomorrow

Yeah, he went straight on it after. My first was fast on everything too, but even now, when he is 5, he is much slower and chilled 😁

@Santa did you try purées to ? I don’t know weather to stop for a while😩

No I did Baby led weaning only 🙂

We started at 6mo but took a break as he just wasn't interested and started to get upset when I tried. Took a week off and have gone super slow and he's now starting to be interested!

My daughter was born on thexsame day as your boy. We started a week or so before her half birthday. Initially she was not interested at all, regularly pulling a face that said - Why do we have to do this?! Also, I started with green veg as recommended by one good paediatrician/baby dietician, so it was not easy. But I offered bit by bit, and if she did not want to have more than one bite, I left it. So now, it’s probably been 2-3 days when she’s actually enjoyed eating solids and we offer a wider variety of food. Apparently one should offer new food to a baby at least 10 times before they accept it. So don’t be disheartened if it does not happen instantly. Also, it’s good to start slowly to ensure it’s enjoyable for bith the baby and parents.
