We are in a similar situation! And the same with the packaged snacks.
Could have written the post myself. I try to reassure myself that WHO recommend breast feeding till 2 years and beyond for a reason so it can't be doing him harm and if he's not ready, I'm not ready. I do however plan to invest in some bf weaning books for his 2nd birthday in the hope they might start to help gently ease him off
Thank you this is reassuring! @Evie snap he's at nursery 3 days no problem whatsoever, I went in in the afternoon for a little Christmas session last week and it's the first thing he asked for when he saw me 🙈 @Gemma same here I've been looking at some books too, booby moon and loving comfort. He doesn't say booby though and don't really want to teach him that word 🤣 Yeah I try tell myself about the WHO and try and just go with the flow but it gets to me some days and I start doubting everything. He didn't eat any tea tonight, but then randomly about 8pm was asking for food and had yoghurt, cheese, milk and avocado on lentil crackers, go figure! 🙈
That was my toddler until last Saturday. He accidentally ate a spicy crisp and didnt like it. Took the opportunity to tell him the boob was spicy and he hasnt fed since. His dad has also doing the night wakes since then and so far he hasnt breasfed for 5 days. This is a baby who cosleeps and fed a million times a night. I honestly couldnt believe he weaned so easily. My goal was to go until he is 2 next month but the feeding all night is giving him cavities because the breastmilk is sweet and sits on his teeth at night.
Exactly the same position, he goes to the childminders 3 days a week and manages fine 9-5 there, and when we’re out and about he won’t ask but if we’re home he asks to feed constantly. He probably eats one good meal a day plus snacks. Also wakes anywhere between 2 to a million times a night to feed 😂 I’m becoming a bit frustrated by it but I just know he’s not ready to stop and it would be an absolute nightmare. I really feel like it’s 100% biologically normal but there just isn’t that many people still feeding this far down the line and that can make us feel like there’s something wrong x
