how to soften babies stools?

my baby is weaning and has been for a month now. he was pooping once a day and it was soft and a big poo! but recently (past 10 days) he has only been going every 2.5-3 days and they are quite hard and thick. it seems to be uncomfortable to poo as well. is there anything i can give him whilst weaning to help this? i’ve tried puréed prunes, 1.5 oz water 2/3 times a day, i’ve also tried reducing the food intake but it doesn’t change. to me- he seems blocked up and like he needs to have a big poo. i’ve heard juice from an orange works?

Juice from Orange works. Try cool boiled water, soft pears, mango, pineapple. Give lots of water in meal time

@Smiling thank you!!

prune juice is much more effective then purée imo

I soften 4 dates in boiling water l, remove the skin and the blitz with warm water, and little one will drink it in one gulp 😅 Works wonders, though!

We have our kid on probiotics and it's regulated him.

@Bianca are babies allowed any type of prune juice or is there one specifically for babies?

@Mee what probiotics? and did they need prescribed

Nope got them on Amazon. How old is your baby? My toddler uses the brand love bug. He was on Nordic naturals baby when he was around 7m.

as long as it is 100% juice adult prune juice is fine :) u don’t have to mix it with water and u can do up to 4 oz a day

Make sure your offering enough water throughout the day or even EBM

How old is your baby

@Ariel 6 months now, we started weaning at 5 months
