Expired Test Result

We’ve been TTC for almost 2 years. This box of tests expired in September, I didn’t realize it until I was waiting for the result. I think I see a faint line… do you see it? And should I get my hopes up since it’s expired?

I definitely see a line, but i wouldnt trust it just in case zx

I see it! Can you buy a first response pink dye test?

Definitely see a line but since it’s expired I would buy different test and try again , I’m hoping it is a positive 💕

Happened to me my first pregnancy. Almost exactly the same story. Now I have a two year old.

September wasn’t long ago! And no amount of being expired would make it detect hcg that wasn’t there. If anything it might be the opposite. I recently tested a batch of tests that were 3 years expired alongside my new box and there wasn’t much difference tbh. 3 months expired us nothing. Congratulations!

Can your partner wee on another one? 😂 at least then you'll know if it's an accurate result! Good luck!

I found out I was pregnant by using an expired test! I read online that you can trust it, it’ll just be fainter than usual because the stuff breaks down. I’m now 16 weeks after TTC for 2 years also x

My understanding is that expired tests are much more likely to give you a false negative than a false positive. They lose their sensitivity, so if you’re testing positive with an expired test you’re probably pregnant! Definitely take another (unexpired) test to be sure but all the tests I’ve been using are expired and they accurately detected my pregnancy at 9DPO!

I took one that was 2 years expired and it was positive and I was actually pregnant haha xx

I got a false positive from an expired test, didn’t realise it was expired at the time

Ahh, I so hope this is the real deal for you! 🤞

Thank you all so much! This is the first month of trying after an exploratory laparoscopy back in October that found lots of scar tissue and polyps which were all removed successfully. It’s been a long, emotional road so we are so so hopeful that things are functioning properly and we have a real chance without IUI or IVF. This would feel like an actual Christmas miracle. I will go get a few more tests and test again in the morning! Thank you again, all of you ♥️

These don’t normally produce false positives in my experience, even when expired! Definitely see a line. Hoping that these are accurate for you! Let us know how you get on with a non expired test ❤️

Definitely see it

@Jamie let us know the result 🤗

In April I used an expired test without realising and got a positive. I then used a clear blue layer in the day and got a “pregnant” result. I’m currently 37 weeks pregnant (tomorrow). I’m not saying that it’s a definite but I’d put money on it being correct. I think when they expire, they just lose their sensitivity instead of giving false readings

That’s positive but would do an in date one just to make sure x

@Jamie digitals need more HCG , I’d honestly try another red dye

I would try a red dye again you look too early for a digital just yet 😊

That digital test requires ALOT more hcg. You often don’t get a positive until the day of your missed period onwards

Hey @Jamie how many days post ovulation are you? Like others say - digitals require a lot more Hcg. I don’t think I had a positive on one until a couple of days after the day of my missed period. Xxx

Try a red dye one just to make sure x

@Charlotte today is 14 dpo. I don’t really have any symptoms though except I am so so tired and waking up extremely hot and sweaty the last 4-5 mornings which is a bit unusual for me.
