I had one. Never again. In my opinion if body and baby isnt ready for labour it would be terrible experience. I had my induction at 38 weeks. 5 days with gel to get barely any dilation. Then at 1.5 cm they broke my waters and gave pitiocin. 6hour in one massive contraction. After that decision for emergency csection because my contraction was too stressful for baby and his hr dropped every couple seconds. For comparison not long ago I gave birth again. Waited for natural start, whole active birth took 2.5 hour. And I was treated like I was giving birth 1st time (because with my induction I've barely reach 4cm dialation, so without reaching active stage of labour). If body isn't ready it in 95% will result in some intervention/complications. Period.

I had a positive labour experience after being induced and was quite short compared to some women. I had a pessary inserted which they typically leave in for 24 hours, I was experiencing contractions after 9 hours so they took it out. My contractions happened too quickly so caused my daughters heart rate to drop, I was injected to slow it down and it worked. I was technically able to have my ‘waters broken’ around then but the labour ward in the hospital was full. I stayed overnight on that ward, it was loud from snoring, being woken up to be monitored, people coming in/out, bright. So bring eye mask, ear plugs, and headphones and be patient!! In the morning, I was transferred to a different less busy hospital. They gave me a sweep and broke my waters within the hour I was having contractions and I didn’t need the hormone drip. I was in active labour for 6 1/2 hours and gave birth vaginally. I did have two minor tears but it healed fast after birth.

And typically 2nd baby is faster labour. My sister was induced twice, gave birth vaginally too. Her 2nd baby was much faster than first. My cousin went naturally and had emergency c section.. its labour anything can happen. People have many different experiences dont let someones negative one scare you xx
