Metformin & high levels

I got diagnosed with GD at 13 weeks and have been on metformin since early November having 5mg with breakfast & tea for fasting levels. Recently been put on a higher dosage as levels kept spiking but levels are still spiking and now meals are high too I’m having at least 1 high meal time a day which is stuff I’ve been able to tolerate before. Do you think maybe insulin would be the best option for me now as i think the metformin just isn’t taking to me anymore. Feeling v stressed (i am now 25 weeks if that is of any importance)

500mg i meal lol ** I’ve been put on 1000mg but levels are still high for fasting and some high in meals

I really dont know how controllable it is for some people. My readings are up and down but nothing really makes sense when I think about when Im eating to get high/low readings… I think sometimes there isnt much you can do. For me, Im more just focussing on the fact they know I have it and as long as they know, they can put the right help in place. No ones been too frantic about it at the hospital tbh, Ive got another scan to check babys size tomorrow (32w) but the last scan she was totally fine size-wise. Sorry not sure how helpful any of that is but I guess Im just saying try not to stress xx

@Beth thank you - it’s so annoying isn’t it how one day your meal can give you a good reading and the next day the same meal can be high 😩 these 15 weeks better hurry up 😂 xx

Yeah I know! I think more of it is out of my control than I originally thought, and the diabetes midwives havent given me much cause to be worried (yet!) xxx
