Hi, I have been pumping since my baby was born (March) and I was always so careful when putting the milk away.
In October, the person who started helping me with the baby was taking care of putting the milk in the bags and then in the freezer. All the bags she did have this kind of bubbles, they look like mold to me. Is this normal?
Yes, this is likely normal. Looks like the fat has separated!
When you thaw it, it should mix back in and look 100% normal.
Best way to know is to smell it/taste it yourself. If it’s bad it will taste ROTTEN. But if you have high lipase it may be a bit soapy (this is OKAY 100% to give to baby).
Hope that helps 🖤
Hi, mold wouldn’t be able to grow in the freezer…maybe thaw one and see what happens
Mold is black. Those bubbles are the fat in your milk. Once it’s defrosted and warmed and mixed it’ll look normal again
