Is my Dr a dumbass?

Trying to talk myself down here - Received a positive digital that said 1-2 weeks (Dec 12). Went to walk-in same day (don’t have a family dr). Sent me for bloods, got them same day - HCG results 27. (Would have been 4 weeks based on LMP) Returned to walkin (as Dr requested) yesterday (Dec16) He said my HCG levels aren’t what he’d expect and that it could be EP, Ectopic or a cyst and I need an ultrasound asap. Soonest I can get in is Dec 24th. But am I missing something, he didn’t send me for more bloods, I’ve only had the one draw and then went straight to “yep ain’t looking good” and then left me to it. Surely that’s jumping to conclusions?! No pain, no bleeding, nothing other than a positive preg test. (Similar to first born, didn’t get any symptoms until 11 weeks - also when I found out) Needless to say, I cried all day after and am feeling so lost. Hoping others have some success stories and he went about it all wrong.

Wow I’m so sorry, I hate doctors 🙄 hes not wrong that low hcg can be a bad sign but the better indicator is whether or not its doubling every 48 hours so its annoying he didn’t order another blood test. Unfortunately whether he’s right or not the only thing you can really do is wait and see what happens. Although I’d be tempted to go to another clinic to ask for a requisition for serial blood hcg. And the other concern would be the possibility of an ectopic. The earliest they rupture is 6 weeks (usually later though) and they can’t see much on ultrasound until then either but do go to emergency immediately if you start getting bad pain low in your abdomen especially on one side. It’s also possible that nothing is wrong and the pregnancy will continue. My fingers are crossed for you🤞I went through this recently and the waiting is very difficult and exhausting

@Jessica thank you so much for your reply ! I’m so frustrated with the whole thing. Was so excited to see that positive after this last year of actively trying, only to have all this happen. Keeping my fingers crossed and watching out for any pain.
