HG comes and goes
Hi, my HG comes and goes. I’m interested to hear what was your experience with it. I’m on xonvea and prochloperazine and I find that my HG has been well managed with these as I only vomit between one to four times daily. I’m now 15 weeks (will be 16 mid next week). Today, out of the blue, my HG came back with a vengeance. If I’m still vomiting overnight then I’ll go to the hospital in the morning for a drip… I’m a little disheartened as I thought it would slowly but surely go away. What’s going on? What was your HG journey like? Thanks a lot

I was given prochloperazine and it didn’t seem to work. I vomited around 4 times a day on that. I don’t really vomit anymore after being given Ondansetron. That’s been since 16 weeks onward. I have vomited randomly when belly has really not liked something ie spices but other than that it’s gotten so much better with these new meds.
It’s ‘normal’ to have good and bad days/weeks/months with HG unfortunately. I had the progression of onset > death zome > minimal relief with meds and fluids> back with a vengeance > medication managed > back with a vengeance > medication managed > vomiting at onset of labour > immediately okay after birth. Still be sure to constantly review your meds, still vomiting up to 4x daily is a lot!

With my first son it was horrendous never left but around 25 weeks I was only being sick twice a day and didn't have the constant nausea so it was more manageable. But when j have birth i still had it a month after giving birth ! With my daughter it eased around 20 weeks and I could actually leave the house
