Mom new to the ASD world.

My son was diagnosed with ASD last month. I’m learning that autism isn’t what I thought it was. I also go through waves of denial 😅 so I’m hopeful that it isn’t just me. Can anyone recommend books or resources that might help me understand ASD? I don’t know what I’m doing and especially in realizing that autism doesn’t look how I thought it does, I’m totally lost! Thank you 🙏🏻

I love ‘turn around autism’, ‘uniquely human’ and ‘a parents guide to high functioning autism’. Plus there’s a podcast ‘moms talk autism’ which has helped me a ton in not feeling alone with my son’s diagnosis. Also look to see if your city has any organizations or groups that you could join and be a part of.

The group Autism Inclusivity on facebook is really helpful place!
