Infections you can and can’t look after

I’m just wondering if people know any patients that have infections, if you can or can’t look after them whilst pregnant? Comment down below if you know of any please! Does anyone know if you can look after Cdiff positive patients? Work are not supportive depending on what staff members I’m working with so please give advice. Don’t wanna be putting myself at risk.

I think it was shingles I couldn't go to but I'd already been to see a patient with shingles. I work as an IV Access specialist nurse. I still had to see covid, flu, norovirus, cdiff, MRSA, CPE, VRE, HIV, hep, scabies (there may have been others). My little one is 18 months and is fine, as long as you follow correct precautions you shouldn't have an issue. I remember being really anxious about seeing all those different types of patients.

Best checking with your infection control team and see what their guidelines are? Stress that your pregnant and how far along etc x

I work in Haematology and I can go into patients with Norovirus/C-Diff but no respiratory viruses, shingles or CRE ☺️ always best checking with infection control though x
