Dine out vs baby sleep

Hi mums, Its been a year we haven’t had dinner or late night out since our baby is born. He is 11 months now, but he sleeps at 7-8pm. I really want to go out and enjoy some Christmas lights, night time breezes, dinners etc. but we can’t leave our bub anywhere. (No family around) How do you all manage staying out with baby after his bed time?? He doesn’t even sleep in pram. We aren’t travelling anywhere for Christmas holidays, (15 days work shutdown period) and I don’t want to waste it at home. Please pour in some ideas Thanks

Can you give him a late nap and let him sleep longer than usual? If not, you can also just go out and let him be tired and a bit grumpy for one or two nights, he'll be fine in the long run. Hubby and I have never used babysitter, we just let the kids have an occasional late night night sometimes when we have to be out. I know it's not as enjoyable with a grumpy, tired baby though

Our social life would be severely compromised and I would miss out on a lot if we always had to take baby home for bedtime- but because I’ve been doing it since about 2m pp- baby sleeps in pram or wherever we’re at sometimes on the rug, someone’s bed. If he’s tired we’ll put him to sleep but we don’t go home until we’re ready to go home. Sometimes he falls alseep in the car otw home and we just transfer him back to bed. The Christmas lights at Fed square are absolutely beautiful, and the carnival along the river…I would take him. Sometimes we’re out w friends also and they have babies too they just do the same as me. An occasional late night might have a sleep in the next morning but that’s about it
