I had one that was as big as babys head at 39weeks pregnant and she. Was 7lbs 11ounzes They removed it along with my ovary. This was 18 years ago. Ive not had any since.
I had a lot of random sudden pain like a week ago and then afterward starting spotting and having some discharge... only thing is the discharge smelled sooooo bad! Like I've never smelt like that in my life. I looked up some stuff and was tryi n g to figure out if it ruptured. The internet did tell me when they rupture the discharge can stink and you could spot or bleed. I don't just listen to the internet so was trying to ask someone who's had some if this sounds possible ? Also what it feels like if you ever had one rupture. I have a doctors appointment scheduled but it's like the second week of january.... my ob was all booked up so I have to meet with her nurse practitioner
@Alyssa ohh I see! I’m so sorry - I’ve not had a rupture so can’t advise but my doc did say it if it did rupture it would be a severe pain and I should go to A&E
Me! They found them as an incidental finding during an early scan. No symptoms and no issues. They were MASSIVE though. MDT (multi disciplinary team of doctors) discussed them and also did blood tests, and confirmed benign. Did a later scan in second trimester to check on them and they’d shrunk to under half the size! Docs are happy. Will get another scan 6 weeks after I give birth to see if they’ve shrunk even more. If so, will leave them there as I have no symptoms and they’re not causing issues. If not and if I want to, they’ll remove them with surgery. Been told surgery is very low risk. They’d only do something drastic like remove an ovary if it was the only option to save your life (or if you requested it I guess!). But yeah, nothing to worry about. Cysts are super common and normal and so many women have them but don’t find out until pregnancy because that’s the only time we get scanned!
