Mucus plug

What did mucus plug look like, could it just be some discharge on touket paper with a tiny bit of tinged bloody? Also, how long after did labour start? I'm almost 40 weeks pregnant, and I think I may have lost my mucus plug but I'm not sure because there wasn't much

Losing your mucus plug doesn’t always mean that you will go straight into labour, however with how far along you are if you did lose it it’s likely going to be soon. Usually your mucus plug will look like a big booger 😂 and it can be with or without blood. It’s hard to say with just a description, you also don’t always lose all of it so that could be the start of you losing it. If you’re not sure, i’d always say ring triage - even just the community midwife so they can advise you if it isn’t urgent xx

I lost my mucus plug weeks before going into labour. The real deal was when I had more of it come out with bloody tinge to it, I then went into labour within 24 hours

This sounds a lot like how mine looked, I hadn't lost any beforehand like some people, it was a small one off i had noticed because of the blood streaks rather than clearness. I went into labour around 24 hours later when I was 39+6 x

Thank you, ladies. I'm due in 4 days, so hopefully, it's just around the corner for me 💖

Get your hospital bag packed! So exciting good luck

@Sophie I've had that packed for weeks hun hahah but thank you so much I hope he's in my arms soon 💖

I lost remnants of my mucus plug a week prior to labour. I then went in to labour at home for 35 hours. During the first 24 hours the full plug came out. And it was ALOT. Full gooey handful of mucus. Trust me you'll know when you've officially lost the full thing. But I lost mine during labour.

I haven't lost the full thing then, but I am having what I think are mild contractions, mild like period pains around my abdomen, and back, coming around every 30 minutes. When should I call the labour ward? With my first time, I was induced, so I'm not sure how long I should wait to call? I'm not in pain as such but I can feel it in my abdomen and back when it comes and they probably last around 30 seconds ds

If you haven’t already, you can download an app that helps you time contractions and it will tell you when to go to hospital❤️ also if you think you are in labour, even if you don’t think you’re ready to go in, you can call triage and let them know and they will normally advise you to stay at home until 5 minutes apart and more painful than these mild ones❤️

@Ellie-May great thank you for the advice x

Ok so i woke up with contractions on Saturday’s 8/24 timed them no water breakage no mucus plug they were easy so no panic yet I ate and relaxed and I kept feeling like I had to pee so finally around 3:00 I went pee AGAIN and when I wiped mine looked like *discharge* with brown coloring ish I do have a picture but I’m not gonna post it on a post lol. So lost it I went and bounced on my yoga ball didn’t know what to expect so I bounced and bounced contractions got a little stronger still bearable so I got a shower now that does help a lot but with ur body so relaxed be prepared when you get out for it to be more progressed. Finally I went out to go walk I was in pain but handling it and around 8:30 my bf and I drove to the hospital (after tracking my app told me too and I called OB triage ahead of time too to ask) I got there was 6cm dilated got me uostairs did epidural water broke at 1:15am started pushing around 3:15 and had baby at 5:27AM :)!

Mine also wasn’t a lot either

So for me i didn't lose anymore plug either, that is noticed. It was that one small time on a Modnay night. Tuesday night I went to bed and around 1am mild contractions started. I downloaded an app too to help me know how often and long they were. I went to hospital around 1pm on weds because cintractikns were often and longer but i hadnt lost more plug or watersbroken at all. I was 6cm when they checked me around 1:30. Bubz was born 23:55 weds night.

All I’ll say is if and when you do lose it (at least in one go) you know 😅 Shocking stuff. I think it was a week or maybe even two before going into labour though

My 1st baby I lost my mucus plug at 33 weeks and didn't have her until 36 weeks. My 2nd baby I lost my mucus plug as I was in labour. Unfortunately it doesn't tell you much about labour🫶
