Living situation

So we moved into a new place in July and everything was fine until September when we started having signs of rodents in the place. They made a hope under the sink where the baseboards are cause there was an obviously gap that lead to them getting in. The landlord has Seinfeld fixed it twice or three times but they keep eating through the wood. He said he was going to bring more permanent solutions to getting it taken care of but hasn’t. In the meantime it is a problem for us and we have tried poison and that didn’t seem to work so here we are still trying to figure it out. They are now becoming sick a problem I get woken up by them in the kitchen running around and now are in my bedroom and I saw them climbing on my babies crib, she isn’t in it. I just don’t know what to do but I don’t want to continue living this way but what we’ve tried isn’t helping.

Have you considered trapping them? There are humane options and kill options, I won’t tell you what to decide. If you decide to go for the humane options be sure you release them at LEAST 10 miles away from your home (otherwise they can find their way back). I’m sorry this is happening. Reese’s peanut butter cups are the best bait (cut them into fourths). Also do your best to keep all of your food and such sealed in containers the mice can’t get through. They go where the food sources are.

We’ve had to use glue traps put some peanut butter on it and they go right to it. We had an issue outside during the cold seasons that would get in the engines of our vehicles and go in the attic

You can legally withhold rent until the situation is handled. You have to pay it once it is handled. So don't spend that money. But you can definitely withhold rent. They can't kick you out for doing so if you told them what's going on and they say they are going to fix it. They have a specific amount of time to do so. Then if it's not done by that timeframe. You can withhold rent until it's done. Look up the rental tenant/landlord laws.

@Elyssa all food is put away and areas where they are seen gave no food source what’s so ever.

@Monica we already have a eviction going on which I’m frustrated at because we have told them about it and they say there is no way they are getting in but there was a gap cause I felt sue come though and it wasn’t ac.
