2.5 yr old not having day naps

Hi guys my little boy is refusing to take naps in the day and keeps getting up from bed no matter how many times I try to put him back. He also wants me or his dad to sleep with him whereas before he slept alone. Not sure why this has changed, is he getting scared? He's slept fine alone for such a long time. Not sure why he's refusing sleep these days.

Mine stopped napping about 5 months ago, now we have much easier evenings

Yeah we don’t have naps much anymore. He’s still in his bed and we still have quiet time during that but he never really sleeps and I usually just leave him. His light is off and I lay him down like for a nap but he usually plays

My little boy stopped having consistent daytime naps before he turned 2. We are lucky if we get 1 a week now.

Mine is 2.5 and has started doing the same thing. I think it’s a regression, his brother is 4 and did the same thing and now requests an afternoon nap again. Have you shifted around your routine at all? Mine have been wanting a nap less since the dark mornings kicked in and they started getting up later. Also in the winter months we’ve been going out less and burning less energy, due to the weather but also the fact I’m heavily pregnant. I think when we return to our 6am starts & more active days, the desire for a nap will return. Perhaps it’s the same for you? X

I've nearly given up on naps too. Most of the time he's fine. Occasionally sleeps in the car.

He might just not need a nap anymore? We've just recently dropped naps (he might have 20mins in the car if we're driving somewhere) and he goes straight to sleep at bedtime. Before dropping he was climbing out of his cot for 1.5hrs telling us he wasn't tired! With a newborn as well, we did not need that chaos I the evenings! 😂

@Jo Same. If he has a nap he tends to go bed late now.

My girl was the same, we stopped naps and night time is now a breeze. She might have an odd 20/30 min in the car.

My boy stopped a couple of weeks ago randomly. They stop between 2.5-3 apparently x
