My son had one undiagnosed for 4 months. It made a huge difference when cut. He had a great latch, but limited side movement of his tongue so wasn’t eating effectively and getting tired easily.
My little girl had posterior tongue tie. We had it cut when she was 4 days old. Made a big difference. Much much less pain for me and more efficient feeds
Yes, but had to go private. NHS said both my girls didn’t have one. But they both had posterior ties. I gave up with fighting with the NHS for my first LG. Ended up getting hers cut at 6 months private as it was really preventing her weaning journey. She had really bad reflux from it as well. Her reflux stopped straight away but it was really hard work trying to retrain her tongue at that age. Hers re attached and needed cutting a second time. NHS were rubbish this time and said she didn’t have one and has gained weight so she was fine. So went private again and got my second LGs cut at 2 weeks old (last Tuesday). Her latch is amazing now. So much more movement of her tongue now and the resting position of her tongue is perfect now. We’ve had 2 sessions with a chiropractor as well and hers is healing well thankfully. So definitely try and get it cut sooner rather than later x
Thank you so so much everyone - we got it cut today by the most incredible team. I’m hoping to see some changes in the not to distant future 🤞🏻 x
If it's affecting his feeding then definitely get it cut. My son Who is 3, had a tongue tie and the back but it didn't affect his feeding so we didn't get it cut. Hasn't affected his speech or anything either
