Hypertension - induction

I’m hoping to find out if anyone else has been induced early due to hypertension? Was your blood pressure consistently high? How was your induction experience? No final word from doctor yet but the possibility was brought up since I’m already over 37 weeks and I’m trying not to panic!

I was induced at 39+4 for gestational hypertension. It has only really been high off and on but consistently for 2 days. I also was already in early labor. The pitocin is wild. It makes things very intense. But other than that I had a good experience.

I was induced three weeks ago, due to some high blood pressure at the end. I delivered at 38w5d. I was 4cm dilated so I was able to just have IV pitocin. Labor and delivery went great!

Thank you @Brianne and @Rose! My blood pressure hasn’t been consistently high and I’m only 37+1 so hoping they’ll let me go a little longer! Being monitored in triage now!

I checked my blood pressure at home on 12/2 and it was high, hadn’t been all pregnancy, went to the hospital and was admitted at 230pm. Pitocin started and foley balloon placed at 330am Tuesday. Balloon removed 12 hours later. 4cm dilated. Then quickly 8. Then 10. Then I think my water broke, pushed for about an hour, she was born at 8:25pm 12/3. I was 39+1 the day she was born. The worst part was being on mag, was on it for 24 hours after she was born, then monitored for 24 hours with blood draws the check mag levels. Then finally released Friday night. No epidural, when I hit transition period I got dilotted (sp?) IV pain med. I wanted to avoid everything all together, but the IV pain med took the edge off enough. Definitely was avoiding epidural, hate needles. Even if I wanted it everything moved too fast by the time I would have asked for it

@Rose I was also induced at 38+5 due to a couple high readings at my last appointment. They gave me cervadil overnight which didn't do much so they inserted a cooks balloon which got me contracting right away. Got an epidural before they started the pitocin and didn't feel anything the rest of labor... it was great lol. So while it took almost 27 hours, I only experienced maybe an hour or so of contractions and the rest was painless. Hoping yours goes just as smooth!

Thank you for sharing @Caryn and @Lauren! I am back home now but with another non-stress test, urine/blood labs and check in scheduled with my ob on Tuesday! I’ll be closer to 38 weeks by then and she said we can revisit induction based on how all those tests go that day!
