Bath

How many times a week do you bath your baby? My LO is 5 months and we're still doing a bath every other day but I see people incorporate a bath every night as part of the night time routine. I just don't find it necessary to bath my baby every night. But eventually will incorporate it when he gets older

I do my 5 month old every other day unless she has a big blow out 😂bathing everyday is not good for the babies skin. Plus having a bath every night as part of the routine will become exhausting. My LO has a feed, read a book (to allow time for the milk to settle), get changed for bed, fresh nappy, into the sleeping bad while I sing twinkle twinkle Little star and then down to sleep. Whole thing takes about half an hour.

We bath every day but only with soap twice a week. He just loves the bath so much and it helps tire him out xx

@Danni I dread bath days, I find it so overwhelming so I can't imagine doing it every single night. Our night time routine is the same, bottle, book then a singy song and it also takes around an hour to put him down

@Rosie do you just fill up the bath tub or do you have one of those baby bath tubs?

Same as Rosie. My little boy loves a bath and it helps him sleep better. I only use soap twice a week too. I've got a nuby seat that he sits on and I put light up toys in the bath. He has a bath at 7, bottle after and asleep by 8 🙂

We fill the bath up and he sits on his seat. It works for us because he enjoys it but I wouldn’t do it every day if he didn’t. It’s just become part of what we do and it works for us. X

Same as @Rosie and @Danni we do bathtime at 6:15 everyday but use soap twice a week. I have a baby bath one that he can lay down in and one that is sitting one and I change them depending if I do it alone or with someone. Then we do massage, feed and sleep at 7

My 5 month old is twice a week unless she makes a mess of herself! I don’t think I could manage to bathe her everyday even if I wanted to as it seems really busy in our house since she arrived! Xxx

We used to do it every night to get it into his routine but he gets so upset getting out that we thought it wasn’t really helping him relax before bed so now we do it every few days. There hasn’t been any difference in how easily he goes to sleep

Twice a week here too, my partner works evenings so I do every bath and bedtime alone, I would find it too exhausting to bath her every night as bath night is so draining, plus I don’t want to irritate her skin by bathing her too often. She sleeps well (8 - 7.30 with a feed at 3am) whether it’s bath night or wash night so I don’t think it impacts her sleep not bathing her every night xx
