Dish basin for bottles?

Hi mama’s! FTM due to have my C-section on Monday and just going through some final things before baby is here. What do you guys think about the necessity of a separate bin to wash baby bottles/pumping parts? I have a Dr. Browns sterilizer and dryer I plan on using after washing so I feel like getting another thing will be too much? For reference I have a very small kitchen with limited space so I’m trying to maximize the area. Open to all thoughts!

i was the same before having my little one and was going to get a separate dish bin but since i have also have a small kitchen and space was a necessity so inside of spending extra money i just used a big bowl that i rarely use to soak all of his bottles and breast pumps and washed them either before or after washing other dishes with fresh water and baby dish soap

@jasmine that’s what I was thinking of doing too! Did you stop using that bowl for other things or do you still use it? The bowl I was gonna use I definitely use/need it for other things

i still use if needed since i’m only really soaking the bottles and stuff in it and just washing them separately in the sink i just make sure i rinse the bowl if i used it previously even if it’s already clean

Personally I found it helpful cause it was less decontamination for bacteria for me. Especially since I couldn't sterilize every single time and have a NICU baby. They recommend keeping things separate cause kitchen sinks are disgusting.

I use a mixing bowl or large Tupperware container. And I still use both for other things/cooking/storing food when I need to.

@Brenda that’s exactly what I have everything in right now is a large glass mixing bowl. I figured that had to be okay since it’s glass and not porous? It can be cleaned well. Thank you! I’ll double check with my provider but I just wanted to see what other moms were doing 🙂

As a 2 time csection mama skip whatever steps you can. Trying to recover and care for a baby is going to be a lot. Do what ever is the easiest on you.
