I had the nexplanon too at one point and I legit got my period for a month, hemorrhaging. Then it was every other week for 3 months 7 days of none stop heavy flow. I was anemic and got sick. If this continues it might just not be for you. 3 weeks of period is not normal, no matter what the doctors say. The nexplanon is very problematic for a lot of ppl. If you’re period continues to be this irregular I would discuss options with your provider.
When I had it, I was lightly bleeding for 27 days out of the month, every month for two years until I finally got it taken out. Only a few days each month where I wasn’t bleeding. This was an extreme reaction, but it is possible for the nexplanon to cause more bleeding, unfortunately. It sounds like this might be the case for you. It does take a couple months for your body to adjust but if it continues at this rate I would speak with your doctor about other options.
I’m on it this my second time getting the nexplanon it’s normal to bleed for a while
