Measuring behind

Heyy , this is my second pregnancy I got an early private scan and I was measuring 5 weeks and 6 days(matched my dates) and there was no heartbeat because I was too early. I then got a scan today at the EPU where there was a healthy pregnancy and a heart beat of 124bpm however I was only measuring 6+4 when I should have been measuring 7+2. Has this ever happened to anyone and a positive outcome ?

Hey! Yes I had the same as you and eventually the baby caught up. Theyre so small at that stage that its hard to get an accurate meaurement. I'm 23 weeks pregnant now 🥰

Thank you so so much that's so good to hear xx

NHS advises against private scans for this reason as it causes undue concern and not all private scan nurses are trained to the same level as NHS nurses

@Glynis omg I never knew that thanks very much

Because baby is so small at that point, your talking less then a millimetre to change your dates. It's only concerning if you're measuring more than a week behind so early on.

@Kaylee thanks so much actually looking at my dates I think I ovulated later this month which would make sense about the dates so hopefully that's all it is xx
