Change of Due date

Has anyone had their due date changed at any point? My original due date from my first scan was 18th December - this also matched the estimated due dates I was given on my period & fertility tracker apps. At my second scan my due date was changed to 8th December due to baby’s measurements.. But that doesn’t change when my last period was, my ovulation date (which I know as I was testing) and the dates we had sex. I’m now 41+ 5 based on 8th Dec (the due date on my records) Or 40+2 based on 18th December. It’s throwing me off totally. I’ve asked to speak to Doctor about it as I have declined inductions so far.

At what dates were the scans? Was the first one an early scan and the second one your 12W? Usually you go by the date given at your 12W scan and any measurements after that won’t change your due date but could result in growth scans taken if they feel your baby is measuring too big or too small, and will map them on which centile they are. At my 9W early scan they said our EDD was 5 Jan. But that changed at the 12W dating scan to 2 Jan.

I was also given a different due date based on baby measurement. I was told that “Mediterranean” babies are considered “bigger” than Uk average, however in my home country (where I have delivered) my due date has always been based on my last period. Long story short, if you are from Southern Europe, Carabbean or African countries it’s very likely they have given you different due date which is earlier than your due date based on your last period

@Valentina hey thanks for your reply. I’m white briitsh & my due date was changed, I think at 12 week scan, due to measurements. Just makes no sense to me. But it’s really messing with me now being “overdue”

@Alexandra hi. I can’t remember tbh but I think it may have been my 12 week scan where they changed it due to measurements being “bigger”. Doesn’t change when my period / ovulation was though 😅

Hey OP - so the date at the 12W scan is the accurate one. That’s based on how your baby was measuring and is the medically correct one. Even though it doesn’t change when you ovulated, that’s how they calculate baby’s growth etc. and on what all medical advice will be based on
