North London housing

Pls help guys, I’m in a rough situation rn.. currently moved out and temporarily moved in to my in laws as it’s more spacious etc but I’m finding it so hard to live here with my 4m baby. I don’t feel comfortable etc. I’ve tried to apply for council housing way before all this, when I was early stages in my pregnancy and they haven’t done anything since then. is there anything else I can do to get accommodation as I feel so depressed.

You can either rent privately with the help of universal credit depending on your / husband income household income - the council may say if you urgently need somewhere and can’t afford … OR take yourself, your baby and husband and all go to the council together with your bags and seek help (ask your in-laws to write you an letter stating they can’t accommodate you no more and how they want you out by …..) you may be eligible to bid depending on the situation and how long you’ve lived in the borough but the wait is LONG for a council property though xx

Have you updated your council housing application to reflect you now living with in laws? Are you sharing a room with your baby? If so you are overcrowded and should be priority for a property. Also mention its effect on your mental health in your application
