Should I be worried?

Hello all! I hope you’re all well. I have come to the realisation that my 19 month don’t like or doesn’t have the ability to solve 12 month old puzzle. I sat with her to do them, but she wasn’t interested. I then gave her the shape sorter activity to do, which she was happily doing it. Any advice on what I can do to help or assist my little one in puzzles please? Many thanks. 😊

Character puzzles of favourite shows or books she reads. I also used to make it a game with mine see who could do it the fastest also I used to on purpose put them in the wrong places and my boy used to find it hilarious and fix it for me. Also a lot of prompting and guidance with a lot of positive reinforcement make it fun exciting/silly even. I found this really captured his attention also I found doing puzzles round other toys he would get distracted so maybe try doing it at the kitchen table or somewhere in the house there isn’t much distraction get her full attention hope this helps x

No I wouldn’t be worried at all. I’m sure you’ll introduce them again at a later point and she will be into them/master them. My daughter was very similar, - She’s very good at her social emotional and role play etc but she’s not that into problem solving activities - it’s getting better as she gets older but she still prefers puzzles that are a bit younger than the guidelines as she finds them easier and I think lacks the interest to stay focused on a more challenging one. As above I find ones that match her interests help but I do think it’s a bit of a personality thing x

What’s a 12 month old puzzle

We introduced the 12month + puzzles just before our girl turned one, and she was obsessed + solving them really quickly for several months. Now at 20months completely zero interest or if she does try to give it a go-can’t solve it. I am pretty sure she will get back to this in later stage again. Now climbing, dancing and jumping are most important activities.
