Pls send help!

My 2 yr old boy hates drinking water now, he always wants juices we hide them from him, but he throws a big big tantrum he starts to bite on himself if he doesn’t gets his way his grandma spoiled him on giving him flavor drinks all the time since she watches him for us when we’re at work. Turns to find out he’s been fussy and crying way too often, because he has a bladder infection , a uti right? Anyways he needs to drink water for him to wash it down, but he doesn’t want it what do I do ? I’m stress out because he doesn’t understand or talk he just shows us what or where to go and wants it’s kinda like a guessing game with him has this happen to any if you’re kids and what you do?

Why don't you try flavoured water?

@Emma didn’t think about that lol! Thanks definitely will

Also I would recommend upping foods with high water content… I know it’s not water exactly but you get it where you can… and if it is a uti cranberry juice would help too…

Cranberry juice is supposed to help with UTIs. Try diluting the juice with water. Don't let him see you while you prepare the bottles. What is important now is to get liquids in.

Right now what’s important is the liquids so I would just give in till the UTI is dealt with and then tackle the juice issue x

You could start mixing juice half water half juice till you slowly wean the juice. Or there’s only enough juice that it slightly changes the color. That’s what we do for our son. He will drink water plain but if we give him juice it’s a lot of water and some juice. 3/4 water to 1/4 juice.

Half water half juice and let him see you pour juice in his sippy. I do this with my kids all the time cuz they throw giant tantrums for it. Slowly make it less juice and more water where he won’t notice. You can also try Pedialyte.

That was my issue but I let her scream for juice and I only offered water. She eventually started drinking the water as she was thirsty

I only give my little dude half water and half juice. I also make pineapple green tea that I let him have. It’s fruit flavored but has no sugar and green tea is low caffeine. He loves green tea and it’s a nice sugar free option if he’s drank a bunch of water.

Also drink water and share. Kids will naturally mimic parents so if you have water your drinking give him some as well, my son loves to drink what mommy is drinking.
