Is it against policy/rules to send a Christmas card to your therapist??

My MIL told me that’s way too friendly to do and I shouldn’t have sent a card. I mean she plays a huge part in mine and my daughter’s life. It’s not like I got her a gift?

I would say no since people send their OBs Christmas cards of their baby all the time. I would never but that’s just me.

Id send one to the office but not to her personally. Wish a merry christmas to your therapist and her support staff all at once!

Wow I truly see no problem with that? She knows all ur personal crap anyway lol

My grandad used to get the postman & the amazon delivery drivers a Christmas box every year - it's a nice gesture! Don't overthink it!

@Emma I mean we gave our coffee shop workers and my daughter’s teachers actual cards and gifts.. I also felt confused by this 🤷‍♀️

@Sam that’s what I figured…, she knows my deepest darkest secrets for goodness sake 😅

@Justice I had addressed it to the therapist and the counseling center as well 🤷‍♀️ I didn’t put any notes just a generic card from the family.

Particularly with psychotherapists, it could be inappropriate when you give them something expensive, personal or you try to build a bond. For a normal card I don't think they will think you are projecting anything on them, don't worry.

I think if it’s just a card it’s fine. If it’s a gift I could see it being too much.

I sent one to mine with some chocolates before, and she said thank you.
