Christmas Eve Church

Are you taking your toddler to church on Christmas Eve? The Candlelight service has always been my favorite. But if I take my toddler, she'll be up at least 2 hours past bedtime and I'm not sure how well that will go. Sometimes we'll keep her up for an extra hour on special occasions, but I'm worried two is too much. I could go without her (my sister isn't planning on going to church and we're both staying at my parents house for the holiday). But then I wouldn't get to be the one to put her to bed on Christmas Eve, and that breaks my heart a little. I could just skip the service, but I missed it last year, too. What would you do?

could you plan to have her nap a little later for one day? or will that throw her off completely? my son will typically do okay off schedule for a day but i know some toddlers aren’t like that. If we go to our christmas eve service (we’re all super sick right now so it’s debatable) he will be joining us!

I would go. Toddler missing bedtime one time isn’t a big deal for me. Depends on the child. It wouldn’t throw my son off too much

@Krissy it's a good thought! The only downside is that we're planning on using her naptime for the 2 hour drive to my parents, hoping she'll sleep in the car. We'd just have a less time with family, and there's no guarantee of how well she'll sleep in the car
