Reduced movements when ill?

Hi so I'm going incognito as I'm quite embarrassed but i had to take some laxatives last night for poopy reasons and was up all nights opening the gates of hell. Since then I've felt quite sick (as to be expected) but I've not felt baby girl move since? Is this normal? She normally dosent start proper wriggling till the evening time around 8/9 but should I be worried? As it's been radio silence in there?

If she hasn’t moved all day, or you haven’t felt her when you usually have then it’s always safest to get checked. Only you know your babies patterns and what is/isn’t moving, even if you ring your maternity department or triage and advise them of the situation, they can best point you what to do - they may just suggest going in to be on the safe side and make sure all is okay!

If it’s not normal movements for you then ring triage they’ll be happy to see you

I felt reduced movements when I wasn’t so well, baby feels what you feel so go get it checked just incase x

I had a cold for a few days and didn’t really feel baby move at all, this was a while back though, like 6 weeks ago. Now I am feeling baby at least once a day but midwife did say there will be no pattern until 30 weeks. Not sure how many weeks you are but I’m guessing at least 25, so I would maybe call triage to get their opinion. Hope you are ok and feeling better!!

I was unwell and was just looking after myself at home. On the second day I hadn’t felt her move as much so I went in and very quickly ended up on the sepsis pathway and admitted because my observations were so extreme. Baby’s heart rate was very high which is why she wasn’t moving a lot. Thankfully they treated me and once I was feeling better she stabilised and was moving loads again. Basically any reduced movement could be a sign they are unwell so always worth getting checked x
