My experience wasn’t positive happy to share details if you’d like bur remember we are all different. What someone else went through isn’t necessarily going to happen to you x
I had a pessary and then two tablets inserted into my cervix which got me dilated enough to pop my waters. I didn’t have any contractions with the pessary and tablets but they started the minute my waters broke and I was 10cm dilated 7/8 hours later! I was so worried about an induction as you hear so many stories about really long labours ending up in C sections but definitely wasn’t the case for me! x
I had the pessary twice. I had my waters broke at 9ish and babygirl was born at 17:18. I actually didn’t think it was as bad as I thought. I was petrified to have the induction but it was actually alright. Quite a calm experience and everything is discussed with you thoroughly
I had the pessary and in the final hour of the 24hrs before they were going to break my waters they broke naturally ☺️ progressed to 7cm naturally without needing the drip etc, I did end up with an emergency c section at that point but due to baby being stuck in my pelvis (which I think would’ve happened induction or not!)
Thanks for sharing all the experiences, it seems very mixed, but it’s good to know there are both positives as well as negatives to be aware of.
I’m currently in labour.. had the Pessary for 24 hours, unfortunately didn’t work - had no pains etc! So had the gel and that seems to be doing the trick
I had two first fell out and second my hind waters went so had to come out ! I ended up with an emergency c section but that was due to baby not coping with contractions !! Other women on the induction ward had the pessary and had lovely labours - I would keep hydrated and keep Mobile !!!
