Anyone still BF their 18 month baby?

How to stop? 😭😭😭🥲🥲🥲 he screeeams if I don’t bf. He refuses cow’s milk. Tried mixing it with bm, tried adding honey. Tried cold and tried hot. :) on top of that he cries for it at night time. If you are going to be rude in comments, please just abstain from commenting.

I think it’s fine to keep breastfeeding at that age but if you want to stop then that’s also fine! I’ve seen other mums use a method where they gradually cut back. So say your child wants to be on the boob for 5 minutes you’ll say beforehand “ok today we’re going to have 4 minutes of bubba” (or whatever you call it) and then you slowly reduce it down until it’s like 10 seconds and then you tell them it’s the last time. I guess maybe that makes it more of a joint thing rather than trying to make them go cold turkey

I stopped around 18 months with my first. We cut out all daytime feeds and then my mum/husbanf took him overnight for 2 days. I would do the sleep feed and explain milk was all gone before leaving (we were previously cosleeping). He did get upset but my mum offered cuddles and water throughout the night while bedsharing. On day 3 i explained it was all gone and he never asked again. We had tried to wean twice before this and he just wasn’t ready!

I’m still breastfeeding my 22 month old. He nurses before nap and during the night still. I wanted to stop the night time ones but I guess day time ones are easier. But just offering solidarity cause this mamas tired

Thank you got all your comments. @Lex I am exactly the same, I just can’t do it anymore. My nipples are gonna fall off 😭😭😭😭😭😭 I am physically and mentally drained. I really want to stop so I can enjoy motherhood more
