We use the biological position almost exclusively but I’ve started using the cradle position with some success. He’s too heavy for the rugby ball position. I know this is a stupid questions but what other positions are there?
My baby is doing the exact same… I read that it’s called a 3 month crisis, I read a few posts on here and online and feel more reassured that it’s this… https://la-romi.com/blogs/la-romi-blog/breastfeeding-crisis-guide?srsltid=AfmBOoqQXg2gUr294qbUZaILnu0I5Na2KcRfYY2KyhSPZW33ugWF1HUc I put the dribbling and eating hands down to exploring though as he’s not really in pain with it!
Thank you so much! This has helped a lot!
I’ve just been through this with my little girl - it was very stressful. I ended up having to pump and bottle feed her, but luckily it only lasted a few days. I visited a breastfeeding clinic who advised spending a day relaxing in bed with the baby, offering her feeds regularly but with no pressure if she didn’t want to. Eventually we’ve got back to nursing for every feed, although I’ll often need to be somewhere quiet and distraction free which can be a bit of a pain (especially with a 2yo too!) X
@Melissa I agree, my baby has been fussy lately and wont feed unless we both lie down on a side.
I had this problem and it was because my flow was too fast for her, she fed better if I lay down on my side and sat her up on my side, so if she on my right she would feed off my left. Not the best position but she wouldn’t feed if we were both lying down. I found night feeds were easier overall and eventually she got the hang of it. Hold in there, I know it’s hard, she would literally scream the place down. Pumping wasn’t really an option for me and I couldn’t get much even though I bought a hospital grade pump, I’m so glad I held in there and was persistent, having said that we were combi feeding but I always made sure we latched first and then would offer a bottle after.
@Ginn thank you. I’ll try latching first, then the bottle
My girl can be quite distracted just now and I’m having to sometimes feed standing and bouncing x
What about trying new positions?
