My doctor said minimum suggestion to not get pregnant within 12 months of the last C-Section but mentioned even better to wait 18 months. Mainly to protect and prevent cases of uterine issues.

I had my first in November 2019, emergency c-section. Second, june 2022, scheduled c-section (they said i could try for a vbac but after 3 days in labour and months of recovery I thought "no thanks 😅") Having my third and final via scheduled c-section in January 2025. All together, near enough bang on 2.5 years between each baby. From what i have been told, that was considered a very sensible gap, allowing my body to heal/rest and putting me in the best position for recovery afterwards. They said that if i came in during Labour before my scheduled section date with my third, unless baby was crowning, they would insist on a C-section rather than letting me try for a vbac, which personally i am ok with.

It's tricky, because you also need to factor in your health and age. I had just turned 28 when i had my first, with no health conditions. My second i was 30.5 with a long term health condition. My third, i have just turned 33 and now with 3 long term health conditions 🙄 Not that any of those individual conditions would have a big impact on labour and recovery on their own, but coupled with my age and general fitness, i am not in the same position i was when i had my first at 28. There is a general rule to follow in terms of when it is best to fall pregnant again after a C-section, but it is very individual. Some have no issues after only a few months. Some have issues after even a few years.
