Am I tripping?

My partner sings right. So he said he had a show yesterday with his friend yesterday. He left the house around 3pm yesterday and he said he should be back 11pm-12am I said alright. I messaged him around past 1am if he is coming home or not. He replied around past 3am saying his friend’s car broke down and they took Uber to his friends house so he will be passing the night there. I replied alright. I expected him to be on his way back this morning and I called and called no response this was around 8am. He returned my call around past 10am and he said his friend said he will drop him off after church. Called him on video call and he wasn’t even in the so called church with the friend. Now I am confused because he said the car broke down on their way back so how come his friend is dropping him back home? It’s almost 1pm and he isn’t even replying me again. It’s just weird lol. Should I call his friend and ask if he is with him?

Kind of sounds suspicious.. but, I also don’t want to go down that route and think the wrong way. I would have a conversation with him. Calling to ask his friend, I think 9/10 they’ll cover for each other 😅 Again, who knows. Maybe his friend will be honest 🤷🏻‍♀️

His story does not add up....

He used my phone to call him yesterday so that’s how I have his number. It’s just been weird and it’s giving me a headache cos I am trying my best not to think otherwise

This is quite suspicious. I was in a similar situation once and did call the friend because I was just going crazy wondering why he wasn’t responding to me. Do you guys live together? I mean it could all be innocent but could also be bs. Why couldn’t he just uber home last night why did he need to stay at friend’s?

So sorry this is happening to you. So when the same thing happened to me I basically just texted my ex saying I’d spoken to his friend and I knew he wasn’t there and then he came clean. He was actually at his mum’s house, avoiding me. I hope you get your answers - this behaviour is not ok! Good on the friend for being honest I guess.

His story doesn’t add up at all. And the fact you’ve called his friend & he’s said he’s not with him - that’s also very sus!

Most friends of males will lie for them ... .. this is a massive red flag... I wouldn't acuse but I would do some digging..
