I’d suggest looking at happycosleeper on instagram. She has lots of recommendations on types of floor bed. She goes into detail around why she doesn’t recommend rails but if you do want rails, the height of rails you should get and how they should be spaced etc. She also give information on mattress and other things like filling in gaps around the bed, putting a carpet or soft mat on the floor in case they fall out etc. Basically a one stop shop in floor beds!

I mean floor beds are supposed to give them the freedom of getting in and out. But we got one with high rails because that’s what he was used to and it felt more cozy to him. But I wouldn’t just get high rails to not get out. They still have some sort of door way for them to get in and out

And how old is your child. And we just used a normal twin bed. If you’re co sleeping then you could do a full size but when you’re done co sleeping then eh you might not want full.

LO is 1 in a few days time and is stil up frequently during the night and wants me for comfort

Gotcha. You could maybe do a twin since baby is still small.

@Gabrielle normal twin bed or a floor bed do you think? Shall I get a rail for safety?

Twin floor bed. They have twin sized sides and what not to be like a bed frame

I've seen people buying a toddler bed from john lewis for £150 cutting the legs off but leaving a couple of inches, floor beds are expensive so that's what we're gonna do x
