& exploring. The app and instagram is called solid starts. Good luck!!
@Marie Thank you for this!!! This is so helpful! I am definitely going to get that app. My girl LOVES to eat and she is super interested in our plates, so I think she’d take to BLW super quickly!
I did BLW with my now three year old and again now with my 6month old! I swear BLW is the reason my 3year old is not picky at all. I usually just prepare what we plan to eat but modify it accordingly such as seasoning or spices. When you decide to introduce high allergy foods like strawberries, eggs, or nuts try to limit the amount of ingredients in that meal so you can easier identify that any reaction is actually caused by the high allergen foods! Steer clear from bread unless toasted. We have all experienced bread getting trapped to the roof of our mouths and the same thing can happen to babies and cause choking. I listened to the audiobook “simple and safe baby led weaning” as well as followed many accounts on Instagram. You got this mama!
@Alexis Thank you for the tips! I am really excited to start with my daughter. Choking is definitely my biggest fear with starting! I think that’s why I’ve been so hesitant. I’ll check out that audiobook! Thank you for the recommendation!
Hi Lexie! I just started with my 6/month old too. I’ll tell you what I’m doing but adjust it to what your baby needs are. My baby is gaining weight fine so I started BLW mainly for him to explore different textures, see if he has allergies, and so he can learn how to eat himself. I have this app that I paid for which tells me how to cut/prepare/and if they’re are any recalls on foods. They have a instagram that is free & you can easily do a google search or tik tok search lol. I usually always have him eat his first meal with me. So like eggs, plain Greek yogurt, fruit, veggie, hemp seeds, etc. If I make chicken for dinner I’ll cook his chicken leg or spare rib with no seasoning. I’ll use butter for like eggs and stuff. If he’s irritable I’ll make sure to breast feed him, take a nap, and do whatever he needs to feel better then we can come back and try the solids. It doesn’t matter how much he eats bc he’s getting all the nutrients from my milk but it’s important he’s learning and
