It can take some time to get an OB if you have a healthy pregnancy. Doctors usually wait before referring to make sure OBs have the capacity to take on patients. You could also decide to be under the care of a team of doctors (GPs) who also deliver babies (primary care network clinics) When it comes to having a midwife, contact several centers to up your chances. Midwives can only support uncomplicated pregnancies, so it is not unusual for them to transfer their care to an OB when required. Calling is the best way to get your way in (they will get to know you). Good luck and congrats!! 😊
@Sydney 25 weeks wow that was a long wait. Thank you for the feedback. Atleast I know the wait may be longer
@Stéphanie - Doula this is really helpful. Thank you so much. I think my DR started referrals early because he doesn’t seem interested to do pregnancy care. So he is pushing I get care elsewhere . Do you have recommendations for the team of doctors? I will sure call midwives, so far I had registered on their pool and reached out on email those who previously contacted from my lost pregnancy. But they will be closed for summer vacations in July .
In which part of town do you live?
I saw my OB, first baby, between 12-16 weeks. I can't remember exactly, because I had to reschedule original appointment due to C-vid
