They are helpful! My mom’s advice is to use them underneath pull ups if you aren’t confident in you or your child’s ability to immediately react to wetness at first or if you’re doing longer travel days! The idea is that the training pants will feel noticeably different than a pull up does when it gets wet, but the pull up on the outside is a leakproof layer to just help out
I’m wondering the same thing. It does help with cleanup and puddles a bit. Though I was reading one potty training book that suggested naked bottom until they understood the feeling and then commando next before underwear because underwear can feel too much like a diaper. I don’t know the answer because I have not been successful yet.
in my personal experience, the underwear with the waterproof liners in it that “catch” accidents created so much more of a mess in my opinion like when my son would have a pee accident then I remove the underwear the pee just went everywhere and didn’t stay in the liner so we bought regular training underwear, the cotton ones without the waterproof liner in it and those were so much better. the other thing is u just have to start potty training and see what works for ur daughter and u as the “cleanup crew” lol good luck! 🤍
We use training pants just like normal underwear. I like them them alot for the beginning because you will have accidents and these just help to contain the mess better. They are not like pull ups and the urine will soak through. They usually give them enough time to understand what is going on and for you to get them to the bathroom before the pee completely soakes through to the floor. We do use pull ups at night and during naps because she can't control her bladder at night yet.
