Feeding

Has anyone started weaning their little one yet? If so what are you giving them? My little one just turned 4 months and looking into giving her porridge and pouches that are suitable for 4 months+

Despite what the pouches say it is not recommended to wean a baby until 6 months unless advised by paediatrician or dietician as this can effect there digestive system in the long run

My son was born *just* inside of September but no I won’t be weaning him until 6 months as an absolute minimum and that’s only if he’s showing signs.

If your baby isn't sitting on their own ( unsupported) then it's not a great idea to wean as their digestive system isn't ready for food and can do more harm than good.

Probably not what you wanted to hear (sorry!) but agree with all the above comments. Is there a reason you’re eager to start early? A lot of people think if they’re starting to look at your food they’re ‘hungry’, but it’s really not the case and they should be both sitting upright unsupported and reaching out for the food before you introduce solids. We started BLW with my first at 6 months and he’s a fantastic eater so we’ll do the same this time
