IVF help x

Hey, I wondered if anyone could help or give me some advice on similar situations. Back in October I did my first ivf round and I got 12 eggs! 8 were mature and 5 fertilised. (Yay, or so we thought). On day 2 we got a phonecall to say unfortunately my eggs had to be discarded as they never changed from a single cell. The embryologist said it was rare this happens and that some of my eggs were brown and some were fertilising without the sperm (also rare). We was and still are absolutely devastated. We’ve had 3-4 months break (by the time we go again at the end of Jan) and we’re doing a long protocol this time. We’re adding Melatonin and adding AOA to the eggs to improve chances. We’re also adding zymot to our ICSI. We’ve both been taking so many supplements. We’re healthy and a good weight. Not drank any caffeine since August. Haven’t drank since then other than 2 weeks ago when we needed to just feel normal. (I’m sure we will have a couple of Xmas too). Anyone had similar and then gone on to have success? If it happens again, we lose all our funding! So I’m petrified!! Now I was stressed to the max during that round and off work due to stress and bullying at work so maybe that was a factor? My consultant thinks I have endo too. My uterus is a T shape so it’s different shaped to the normal uterus. At the moment it’s still unexplained and from tests we can’t seem to find anything so we’re think I have poor egg quality! Although my AMH is 20.5 and I’m only 31 (32 in March). Any advice?? Xx

I’m in a similar situ I’m taking my time to go back in for my third cycle. We went for ivf icsi failed twice now! Then I got to find out I later I have low egg quality too. I’m doing accupunture hears that helps with egg quality too. I can imagine the costs as were in so much debt with the previous two cycles.

Please order book called it’s start with egg by rebbica fet 3rd edition. You can order from Amazon and follow it accordingly. Everything will be okay. This book got all details with diet and medicine too si follow it accordingly. Good luck 🤞

My wife’s first round she had 12 mature eggs with none fertilised with donor Sperm. We also had the same issue where they were appearing to fertilise by splitting but weren’t actually fertilised. The next round worked fine and although we only had one viable embryo after testing, I’m currently 25 weeks pregnant. Each cycle is different. Good Luck.

Ivf is so tough, a lot of trial and error. We did 4 rounds last year. In the first round, we got 1 embryo, and in the second round, we got none. My doctor suggested we add HGH ( growth hormone) to our protocol. We are so happy we listened to her. Third round, we got 3 embryos and another 3 on the 3rd round. HGH was a game changer for us. For reference, I was 40 at the time of retrievals and tranfer. Had my daughter 4and half months ago, 1 week shy of 41.

Thank you for sharing! That’s interesting as I’ve not heard of that. What made your consultant suggest adding that in? Glad you had success! Congratulations. It gives me hope xx

From what my fertility doctor explained, the use of HGH in IVF is fairly new, and there is not much data on it! We were pretty desperate by then, so we decided to go for it. It was expensive but worth it in our case. We got more eggs retrieved and a higher percentage of blastocysts. Try not to lose hope.
