Cold Advice

My son (4mo) has a cold and when I lay him down, his nose blocks up and he wakes up within a few minutes. I thought about co-sleeping to comfort him but the problem will still remain. I’m currently holding him upright against me as he sleeps. This is going to be a LONG night for me. Any advice? I’ve used olbas oil for babies all day today and have some on a tissue near us. I’ve got Vapor rub and calpol plug-in arriving tomorrow.

Elevate his pillow stacking two maybe & I apply vix to the soles of my little ones feet, chest and down the spine of his back and it works a treat when applied directly on them. It’s tough but you’ll get through this!

Have you tried the snot sucker?

My lo had the same when she had a cold it’s just the time of year we got a humidifier for her room we also used baby safe saline drops every nappy change and a snot sucker worked wonders to clear her up

Chest sleeping! Cosleepy on instagram has tips how to do this safely and keep bubs upright xx

I second what Lesley said. I had to chest cosleep with my baby when she was a few weeks old as she was bunged up. It was a tad uncomfortable for me but the main thing was that I got a lot of sleep that way! Again as Lesley said, just read up first and get some tips on how to do it safely

Mine has a cold too, I’m doing the boogie vapor bubble bath, saline mist, I rolled a swaddle up and put it under her mattress so there’s a very tiny elevation per her dr. And steam showers and lots of nose suctions. Dr also said she will be wanting to drink less milk because of the congestion so just try to give same amount but over a longer time period. I also bought some baby Vicks, I dress her in footie jammies with a onies underneath. Also a humidifier in the room she’s in. She caught the cold on wed evening and so far all she has now is a small cough and congested nose so what I’m doing must be working.
