Urine Leakage

I am so desperate with controling my bladder after giving birth. I have been through a traumatic labour with induction, 19 hours of epidural, forceps… they tried to put catheter 4 times for me but it wasn’t working. it has been 3 weeks living with the leakage. Doctor only recommended Pelvic floor exercises. I do NHS squeezy app everyday but there is no significant improvement. Anyone on the same boat and it heals with time and pelvic floor exercises? How long did it take for you to get your bladder back to normal? Please give me some hope 🙏🏻

Hi, I’ve been through this after a forceps delivery. I noticed significant improvements around 2 months and now at 9 months have no issues. Have you been referred for pelvic physio? This has helped me so much! Good luck with it, it’s horrible!

@Gabrielle thank you so much for sharing your story. I found hope again. Yes, they referred me to physio and she said I need to try pelvic floor at home first. The doctor advised me to go back to hospital to see bladder expert if I still have issue in 6 months. How was your experience with the leakage? I have it all the time I walk , not only when I cough or sneeze. Wearing pads all days and night now :(

I didn’t see physio until about 4 months PP so don’t be too disheartened. Keep doing the pelvic floor exercises because they make such a big difference even if it doesn’t feel like it. I didn’t have it all the time but I lost all sensation of needing a wee so would stand up and do a full wee and be completely unable to hold it in. It won’t be forever!

Thank you so muchhh @Gabrielle It means a lot to me. I’ll keep my hope high

Mine never got better, got worse tbh, I'm currently on a waiting list to see a physio/hospital foe help

@Katie how long does it last for you?

My little boy is nearly 2 and I'm still waiting to be seen, it's affected my life so much where I don't like going certain places where I know I'm struggle getting to a toilet
