Breastfeeding tooth injury

Hi, I’m currently exclusively breastfeeding. My lil one is 8 months old and has managed to proper bite my nipple about 5 days ago. Everytime he goes on my right breast I am in agony and have been trying to not give him the right side as much, however there is now a scab and puss there. Is it safe to still breastfeed him on that nipple? I dont own a pump Any help would be great as feel like it’s going to make me give up my breastfeeding journey

Ouch…the fact there’s puss there means likely infection id speak to GP and avoid feeding on that nipple until you’ve spoken to them xx

Otherwise HPA cream by lasinoh is FAB for soothing! Xx

Gp is closed now for a few days hence why asking the question x

Do you have an out of hours service? If not, hospital jobby I reckon if it appears infected xx

I don't have any help but I'm in exactly the same situation with my 16mo! It feels like a red hot needle piercing my nipple every time he feeds on that side. I'm trying to just feed on the opposite side (and hand express from the bitten side so it doesn't become engorged/lead to mastitis) but I am finding that difficult as he gets frustrated when milk supply is low, at which point we normally swap sides!

I have never had the puss situ but I have had a few teeth injuries and I continue to feed through the pain except I change his position so his teeth avoid the cut. So if it’s on the top or bottom (underside) I will lay him down to feed as his teeth is then on both sides, if it’s on the sides then I sit him up to feed. I use gentian violet on the wounds and it protects them from infection and speeds up the healing

U could ring the national breastfeeding helpline they are great giv them a Google
