@Emily thank you xxx . What did you do in that week to keep going? Xx
@Harriet I pumped, which I know is exhausting but to maintain my supply. Even if you can use a Hakka pump in your bra it helped to passively collect. My husband gave him expressed milk in a bottle so we kept the association away from me as much as possible, also made sure they were pace fed so he didn’t get a preference. Nursed a lot in the night. I know timing wise this might not be possible, but went to a breastfeeding support group which helped immensely just for the comfort and reassurance. The monkey also latched straight away when we were there. I think for me, what made sense, was that he just didn’t want it as frequently anymore as he was more efficient at the breast and was frustrated when I offered xx
This is totally totally normal, you’re only alone, please read this: https://www.instagram.com/p/CPWF5wVAQ9J/?igsh=MXJrNjhoM2xsYzV1dQ== We had about a week of breast refusal around the same time, I can’t tell you the emotions I went through too. He would still do sleepy feeds, so that would be my recommendation to start there and slowly. Lots of skin to skin and no pressure for her to latch and see what happens. He’s 1 now and still EBF (plus meals). It doesn’t have to be the end xx
