Birth plan was so useless for me bc nothing went as expected Have no birth plan for this second one lol🫶🏻

I had a birth plan but by the time I got to 7cm dilation it didn't go the way I planned. Was in too much pain. By the time I was fully dilated I pushed for 3 hours before I gave in and let them do an episiotomy because my babygirls head was too big.

@Leann what’s a episiotomy?

They made a small cut at the bottom of the vaginal opening to make more room for the head of your baby. My Ob tried to wait but I was tearing anyway @Keaira

I had a birth plan for unmedicated labor and it went exactly to plan. I would have a plan but have contingencies for c section for example

Birth Plan is great to have as a roadmap for the labor team but like anything in life it may not go as planned. I was glad I had one bc I felt prepared and had the opportunity to ask questions ahead of the big day.

I help folks make birth plans. We go over everything so that you aren't having to make decisions in labor. I also let folks know that it's just a helpful road map, but that it may not happen exactly like we want it to. That's why we go over everything that we can. So that they know what may happen and can make informed decisions
