Portion sizes

Hey ladies. Merry Christmas! 🎄 We picked up some of the Heinz jars for our 7 month old. (She hates BLW so the jars are our go to) Now the 6 month+ ones are the size of the one on the right but the 7 month+ jars are double the size. Now usually at tea time we would do a small jar and a yogurt or fruit puree. But with these bigger jars are we still okay to offer a dessert after it? Looks like a lot of food and I’m petrified of over or under feeding my baby.

Id try the big one and see if baby wants that much food mine starts pushing away the spoon when she's has enouth or just do half the jar and save the rest for the next day baby will start to want a little bit more food gradually anyway

Wait. Are they meant to make it through this much food? Mine eats 2-3 tablespoons if I’m lucky.

@Ali each baby is different but mine would deffently eat half of that jar it was a slow process but I've deffently notest a diffrence in LO appetite. I do bottle breakfast bottle lunch bottle bottle and food is always an hour later after bottle.

My baby tends to have a third or half of one of the bigger jars depending on what else he’s had that day. He’s not at the stage to eat the whole thing but each baby is different. I would say just be led by your baby - they will push the spoon away or move their head if they have had enough.

I offer a full smaller jar and half the bigger jar. If she's still hungry then I give her a yogurt afterwards. If I fed her the whole 7mo+ jar she'd eat it and enjoy it but then throw up within an hour 🥲
