Nipples spray like a fire hose

Hello My nipples spray an insane amount during feeding and my baby girl hates it. I think the spray hits the back of her throat and she chokes and screams. She will pop off and it will spray everywhere sometimes in 4 separate streams. I have to take a cloth and apply pressure and that usually makes the spray stops and she will continue feeding but with a slight attitude at being sprayed and choked Its typically the morning feed that seems to frustrate her the most... Anything I can do to slow the let down so she can suckle more comfortably?

Do you pump as well? If not maybe hand expressing a bit before nursing her may help. Mine also spray a lot when they’re full of milk especially in the morning

^agree with above or hand pump for a minute each side before you feed

I tried this with a hand pump and it worked! Thank you both

@Alexandra I’m glad. I had the same problem in the beginning or baby would unlatch for a minute and get sprayed in the eye 🥹🤣

Have you tried to feed in a different position so that the let down isn’t so strong? Like leaning back a bit to combat gravity
