Yeah we have a cousin on my husband's side who is a couple months older then our boy. They are always comparing him to our son, it drives me mad xx
Oh no. That's horrible. Try to ignore him its nonsense, children all develop at their own pace. It's not like anyone can tell who spoke first out of a group of adults. In the grand scheme of things how long it takes a child to speak fluently is completely irrelevant as long as they get there in the end! I asked my mum to not compare mine to my cousins LG who is 3 months older and we have *never met in person*. This is really key as grandparents exaggerate skills a lot so my mum may say cousins LG can use a spoon but tjr truth may be that she fed herself one spoon of a yoghurt. Half of which went down her jacket and the mum fed the rest. I know my mum told my cousin that my LB was pulling up to stand everywhere and cruising and in reality he was shakily pulling up to *kneel* about once every few days. 😅 it was about 6 weeks before I personally described him as standing. So do have a word with him but don't believe what he says about the relative child as well
My boys have both attended childcare since 9 months old. My eldest began speaking a lot between age 2 - 3. My youngest says about 3 words. Don’t listen to him!
